What is Job Pursuit?
Job Pursuit is an annual job fair sponsored and hosted by a consortium of private, independent Michigan Colleges and Universities. It is a highly unique opportunity to explore employment opportunities and interview for positions in the same day.
Who should attend?
Juniors and seniors from participating schools who are interested in exploring internship and employment opportunities with a variety of companies.
How much does the fair cost and how do I register?
Student registration is $10.00. To register, you must contact the Career Services Center at your respective school. Registration is required You will be assigned a number that will identify you to the employers for the day. Deadline to register is Friday, February 14, 2014.
How should I prepare and what should I bring?
You should Research the Companies that will be in attendance and target the companies that you want to interview with. The following web-sties provide quality information on how to be successful at job fairs.
Bring plenty of resumes with your assigned number marked in red, in the upper right hand corner of each one. Dress professionally; a modest business suit for both men and women is appropriate. Limit the amount of jewelry and cologne you wear.
What time should I arrive and where do I park?
Be early, you should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. The job fair starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.. Free parking is available in the parking lots surrounding the hotel.
What about lunch?
Lunch is not provided, however, there are plenty of restaurants surrounding the hotel. During the lunch break held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. employers will select candidates they wish to interview and schedules for the afternoon will be made.
